We are so excited to introduce you to our January Motivating Mom of the Month-Megan Madigan! Megan has been a member of FIT4MOM Naperville for several years and we have gotten to know her well. She attends classes, social events and is always coming to class is like a burst of sunshine! She always has something nice to say and always brightens our day.
She - and her kids - are so sweet! Regardless of how her day is going, Megan always asks about others, is quick with kind words, is always looking for a way to lend a hand and has a wonderful sense of humor. She is one of those moms who remembers a small detail about your last convo, even if it was weeks ago, and asks about it- something that can make a mom friend feel pretty special. We can’t think of a better workout buddy and Mom friend. If we can do even half of what Megan does for others in our village, we'll consider it a win! She is one of the sweetest, most genuine people we know-just ask anyone in the village! Thanks for being awesome, Megan! Our village is lucky to have you!- Your FIT4MOM Naperville Team
Introduce us to your family!
Hey there! I'm Megan Madigan, my husband Chase and I have two children Allie (3) and Harvey (1.5). We've lived in Naperville/Aurora area for 6 years and have made some great friends here! We enjoy being outside, we frequent Morton Arboretum year-round. We also like going to movies and restaurants, playing games, and of course quoting The Office in daily conversations.
How long have you been a member of F4M Naperville?
What made you come to your first class and which classes have you participated in? I've been a part of Fit4mom for about 2.5 years! I came to my first class because I found the stay-at-home mom life transition hard and needed some community! My former co-worker had recommended Fit4mom, raving about Lauren's awesome workouts! I have always participated in Stroller Strides, but also really enjoy Stroller Barre, and the new Body Ignite class on Monday nights.
What is your favorite mom hack or piece of advice to share with your fellow moms?
Hmm, well another mom in Fit4mom told me about the cordless vacuum and it has seriously changed my life! I don't have a dog, so I literally vacuum like 4 times a day because of all the crumbs/whole pieces of food thrown on the floor. Also, one piece of advice another mom gave me is to remember God loves my kids even more than I do and I can trust Him to take care of them, so that has always been an encouragement to me on the hard, long days.
What would you say to a mom considering joining our village?
I would say "Come on, don't miss out!" It is such a wonderful group of women who will encourage, strengthen, and bring joy to your life. The awesome workouts, play dates, mom's nights out, and fun conversations will keep you coming back! It can be intimidating at first because it seems like others might know each other really well, but soon you'll find friends and a community that will be there for you! Plus, you'll get some much needed fun, adult conversation, while taking care of your body and health. It is a great way to practice self-care in the midst of raising little people. I am so grateful for the friendships I've made and for all the instructors and other moms who dedicate their time and energy to running Fit4mom. Thank you!
