Introduce us to your family!
Hi, I'm honored to be recognized! I'm Evonne, and I’m lucky enough to be the mom of two wonderful kiddos, Abel (11) and Olivia (8). We also recently adopted our pup, Bella, through a connection with another FIT4MOM mom! We have a sweet budgie named Lucky as well.
How long have you been a member of FIT4MOM Naperville? What made you come to your first class and which classes have you participated in?
I’ve been with FIT4MOM for 3 ½ years, and I have no plans of stopping anytime soon! I’ve never been athletic (and still wouldn't say I am!), but I joined my first class after struggling to stay motivated with home workouts in a post-COVID world. I started with several Body Well sessions, and now I attend Boost, Barre, 360, Strides—basically any class I can make it to!
Our favorite things to do as a family
We really try to embrace each season and enjoy all the fun activities that come with them. In the warmer months, we love swimming, scooter rides, park visits, lemonade stands, and fishing in the neighborhood. During the colder months, we enjoy cozy time at home with board games, movies, birthdays, holidays, sledding, and, of course, hot chocolate!
What would you say to a mom considering joining our village?
Do you have a second? Here, let me sign you up! But seriously—no matter what stage of motherhood you're in; you'll feel comfortable here. You can be having a good day or a tough one. You can be social or quiet, clumsy or graceful, loud or reserved—just be yourself, and you'll find your way. It's truly a “come as you are” environment. And the social events? They're mom-planned and absolutely amazing—thoughtful, fun, and over-the-top in the best way! It’s a wonderful group to be part of, and everyone is so welcoming. The coaches are fun, inspirational, relatable, and truly show up for us each day! They attend classes too because they enjoy them as well! After every class, you can stay and chat with other moms about life’s ups and downs. When I first started, I remember feeling nervous and shy, so I always try to introduce myself. I want others to feel welcomed and supported, just like I did. Do the free trial—you won’t regret it!
What has been your biggest gain since joining FIT4MOM Naperville?
Sorry, I can't list just one! :) I try to live life as positively as possible, but I started with Fit4Mom during a particularly rough season. I had just moved back to the area after 14 years in Colorado, navigating life as a newly single mom with a lot on my plate. I've attended class on some pretty tough days and have always walked away feeling better, both mentally and physically. I’ve also been lucky enough to meet some really special friends and many great acquaintances along the way. I see many of the moms at school and around the community, and it’s always a welcoming sight. Plus, I use these exercises in my daily life—whether I’m holding my kids, picking things up from the floor, doing yard work, or even laundry. I’m stronger and more capable now than I used to be. Finally, the holiday classes have given my family a way to celebrate together that we didn’t have before.
